Working from a lift boat, Morrison utilized its Deep-Air Dive Package and 8 Divers to locate and excavate the flange at 100 fsw. Divers removed the temporary flange clamp, prepared the 36-in pipe and installed the flange encapsulation clamp. The flange encapsulation clamp is installed around the entire flange itself, making it airtight and waterproof. This 35,000 lb, 48-in clamp was one of the largest PLIDCO had built.
With 2,215 total man-hours, operation objectives were met and the project was completed incident-free without environmental impact.
